Barbara C. Harris Scholars Program
The Barbara C. Harris Scholars Program is designed to champion equity in education by supporting students who are descendants of enslaved people. Established by the Reparations Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, the scholarship helps level the playing field for students from families historically disadvantaged by discriminatory policies.

Who is eligible
- Must be Black, African-American, or Caribbean-American
- Must be a descendant of enslaved people
- Must be a high school senior or currently enrolled in an accredited college or vocational school
- Must reside within the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island (Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, or Suffolk)
- Applicants do NOT need to be Episcopalian
