Black Landscape Architects Network (BlackLAN)
Edward Lyons Pryce Scholarship Program
Established in honor of trailblazing landscape architect Edward Lyons Pryce, this scholarship program assists a new generation of Black landscape architecture students in advancing and sustaining their educational pursuits. Two awards are given annually—one to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student.

Who is eligible
- Must identify as Black or of African ancestry per the BlackLAN Mission and Vision statements
- Must reside in the United States
- Must be registered in an accredited landscape architecture program or program with candidacy status for accreditation in the United States
- Must have at least one year remaining of study (for both undergraduate and graduate applicants)
What you'll need
- Bio (100-word max): "Describe your background (hometown, places lived, etc.) and current educational pursuits."
- Essay (750 Word Maximum): "Tell Us Your Story" - "Provide a narrative that explains your interest in landscape architecture, your future professional goals, and commentary on the benefits of landscape architecture to the world."
- List of other scholarships, awards, or recognitions demonstrating leadership ability
- Resume (One Page Limit - PDF Format) including education, professional experience, extra-curriculars, honors, and skills
- Portfolio (10-page project limit, 5 MB maximum file size) providing up to five (5) academic projects or creative visual samples (limited to 2 pages per project)
- Program Director / Chair of Faculty Letter of Support: A one-page letter acknowledging good academic standing and recognized financial need

- Provide basic contact information and details about your degree program.
- Upload the required bio, essay, resume, list of awards, portfolio, and the Program Director/Faculty Chair letter of support.
