Who is eligible
- Must be an active, full member of The United Methodist Church, African Methodist Episcopal Church, AME Zion Church, or the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church for at least one year prior to applying (includes disaffiliated UMC churches)
- Strong preference is given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time degree program at a regionally accredited United Methodist-related college, university, or seminary in the United States
- Must be an undergraduate, graduate, or Doctor of Ministry student (excluding PhD and other doctorate-level programs)

- Complete and submit the general scholarship application on the UMHEF portal when open
- Request your school's registrar to submit verification of full-time enrollment to UMHEF by October 1
