Who is eligible
- Must be an active member of New Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church
- Have an academic grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Must be a graduating high school senior entering a postsecondary institution
What you'll need
- Three letters of recommendation: one personal/non-academic, one academic, and one from a ministry leader or the NMZ Director of youth activities
- Proof of acceptance from a postsecondary institution
- Official sealed copy of the applicant’s high school transcript
- Essay (300-500 words, typed, double spaced): "Why I am Deserving of this Scholarship." The essay must include a brief discussion of how this scholarship will help in reaching your short term and long-term educational and career goals.

- Complete and submit the online application form on the New Mt. Zion AME Church website.
- Email your letters of recommendation and a copy of your college acceptance letter to virgocloud72@gmail.com by May 7, 2026.
- Submit or hand-deliver an official sealed copy of your high school transcript to Sister Aline Pla, Scholarship Chairperson, C/O New Mount Zion AME Church, 1401 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303 by May 7, 2026.
