The National Black Nurses Association provides annual scholarships to support nursing students at all levels, from LPN to Doctorate. These awards assist active NBNA members who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to the nursing profession.

Who is eligible
- Must be a member of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) and a member of a local chapter (or a Direct Member if no chapter exists within a 50-mile radius)
- Must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (LPN/LVN, ADN, RN-BSN, Generic BSN, Masters, Doctorate)
- Must be in good scholastic standing at the time of application
- Must have at least one full year of school remaining
What you'll need
- Official Transcript(s) from an accredited School of Nursing
- Personal Statement: "Two-page / 500-word maximum Personal Statement / Essay"
- Letter of recommendation (1) from Dean/Faculty member (must include enrollment and expected date of graduation)
- Letter of recommendation (2) from Chapter President/Vice President (validating the application information is correct)
- Resume or CV (5-page maximum)
- Letter from the Registrar verifying enrollment and expected graduation date
- A clean/clear professional headshot
- Optional: Documented evidence of participation in student nurse activities, involvement in the African American community, or involvement in local chapter/NBNA activities

- Upload all required documents, including transcripts, personal statement, recommendation letters, resume, registrar letter, and a professional headshot.
