NCBWMetroBR Scholarship Program
The NCBWMetroBR Merit-based Scholarship Program supports outstanding students, including high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students, by aiding and encouraging them to further their education. The program awards a total of $10,000 split among four selected winners who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to community service.

Who is eligible
- Must be a high school senior graduating from a Louisiana high school, or a current undergraduate/graduate student enrolled in an accredited higher learning institution (2- or 4-year college, university, or technical/vocational school)
- Must have at least two (2) semesters remaining before finishing studies
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Must show evidence and provide a letter documenting community-based service
- Previous winners are not eligible to reapply
- Special consideration given to participants of NCBWMetroBR programs, East Baton Rouge Parish graduates/Baton Rouge area students (including HBCUs), and current HBCU students
What you'll need
- Official transcript of grades
- One (1) letter of recommendation from school or university personnel
- One (1) letter describing service activities and hours of completion from a community organization representative, club leader, service project representative, church leader, counselor, or teacher
- A typed 500 – 750-word personal statement OR a short personal video describing yourself, detailing why you should receive the award, your commitment to service, and your plans for the future
