Who is eligible
- Be an African-American female, high school senior planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university
- Reside in Westchester County and graduate from high school by June 2026
- Have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 83% or higher, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale
- Have applied for Fall 2026 admission/enrollment in a two- or four-year college or university
What you'll need
- Completed application with signed declaration by parent and applicant
- One-page typed double-spaced essay (500 - 750 words) titled 'DST Essay' answering: 'Describe an accomplishment or challenge you have experienced and how it has impacted your life.'
- Official transcript showing cumulative GPA sent directly from the school
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation on official letterhead (one from a Guidance Counselor and one from a Teacher or Community Service Supervisor)
- Résumé
- Financial Need Statement (Optional; do not submit tax forms or FAFSA)
