UNCF Black Women in STEM Scholarship Program

The UNCF Black Women in STEM Scholarship Program provides need-based scholarships to African American women pursuing degrees leading to careers in STEM or financial services. Developed in partnership with Goldman Sachs and Loop Capital Markets, this initiative offers priority consideration to students attending HBCUs or the University of Miami.

Who is eligible

  • Be an African American woman who is a US citizen or US permanent resident
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (some program sections list 3.0)
  • Be enrolled as an incoming junior for the upcoming academic year at a US-located accredited 4-year college or university
  • Have a declared major in a STEM/STEM-related discipline or a financial services discipline
  • Have completed the FAFSA and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need verified by the institution
  • Priority consideration is granted to applicants attending an HBCU or the University of Miami
