The Black American Engineering Scholarship Award provides funding and professional mentorship to underrepresented Black American students pursuing degrees in core engineering fields to help close financial gaps and support career success.

Who is eligible

  • Must be Black American
  • Must be an incoming college freshman/current high school senior, or a student transferring from a two-year program into a four-year program
  • Must be eligible for Federal Pell Grant funding
  • Must be able to show proven financial need
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must be enrolling in an accredited, not-for-profit four-year institution
  • Must be pursuing a degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering (including any subfield of these disciplines)
