Who is eligible

  • Enrolled as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours) at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA)
  • Must identify as African-American / Black
  • Must be classified as a sophomore student at XULA, having completed at least 45 credit hours of post-secondary coursework by the end of Fall Semester 2025
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in all Xavier coursework and in all Xavier BCPM (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math) coursework
  • Must demonstrate financial need with a XULA Office of Financial Aid Award Letter for the Award Year July 2025 – June 2026
  • Must have completed at least eight (8) of the sixteen (16) Workshops offered by the Premedical Office
  • Must have completed a One-to-One Freshman Assessment Meeting with the Premedical Office
  • Must have completed, or be enrolled in during sophomore year, at least four of six required pre-requisite courses (General Chemistry Lecture/Lab, Organic Chemistry Lecture/Lab, General Biology Lecture/Lab, Mathematics, English)
