Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Scholars Program
The Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Scholars program provides scholarships to the children of Norfolk Southern employees. The program offers standard annual awards as well as three special $10,000-per-year scholarships, including the NS HBCU Scholar award for students planning to attend a Historically Black College or University.

Who is eligible
- Must be a child of a Norfolk Southern employee
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited two- or four-year institution, or a vocational-technical program that is at least one semester in length
- For the NS HBCU Scholar award: Must plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
