Who is eligible
- Must be enrolled at one of the five Southern University System campuses: Southern University Agriculture and Extension Center, Southern University Baton Rouge, Southern University Law Center, Southern University New Orleans, or Southern University Shreveport
- Open to current Southern University students, transfer students, and incoming high school students
What you'll need
- Current Résumé highlighting academic achievements, leadership roles, extracurricular involvement, and work experience
- Up to three letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, or employers who can speak to the applicant's character, accomplishments, and future potential
- Academic Records: Most recent semester grades (for Southern University students), transcript from previous institution (for transfer students), or high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores (for high school students)
- Personal Statement (500 words or less): "Tell us how an HBCU, such as Southern University, has made a difference in your personal or family story, and what that means to you."
