Who is eligible
- High school senior or current undergraduate college student.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Full-time enrollment of at least 12 credit hours per college term.
- Declared STEM major; passion for STEM, strong moral character, and leadership.
- Must reside in the United States, attend an accredited four-year U.S. university, and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
- High school seniors awaiting acceptance may provide their current transcript and SAT/ACT scores, subject to finalist verification.
- Open to eligible students at HBCUs and other qualifying universities; not restricted to HBCUs.

- Employment, volunteer service, extracurricular activities, and hobbies.
- Five written responses of 150 to 500 words each: STEM education goals and plans after college; an invention not yet invented and its benefit to humanity; something about yourself; a place that impacted your life; and a benefit of pursuing space travel.
- Winner publicity consent as stated in the application.
